Whenever there is incidence of light onto the phototransistor, the light barrier will switch on a light emitting diode. As soon as the light beam will be interrupted, the LED will switch off. Operating voltage: 6...12V=.
As accessories is available kit "B197 Relay card". It is possible to connect it with the light barrier and to switch with the relay contact other loads up to 3A.
